Commonwealth of MassachusettsSubpoenas
Prepared - Issued - Served
Our office maintains a structured and compliant workflow to ensure that every subpoena is prepared, issued, and served in accordance with Massachusetts law. Each subpoena is drafted by a duly commissioned Notary Public who is also a trained Paralegal, ensuring that all documents conform to applicable court rules and procedural requirements.Upon completion of the drafting process, the subpoena is formally issued by the Paralegal acting in his or her capacity as a Notary Public. The issued subpoena is then transmitted to a Network Member who is legally authorized to serve civil process. The Process Server effectuates service directly upon the named recipient, adhering to all statutory service requirements and providing GPS‑verified proof of service when available. From initial preparation through final delivery, each stage is handled by qualified professionals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and reliable execution.
Legal Authority to Prepare, Issue, and Serve Subpoenas
Authority to Draft and Prepare Subpoenas:
Our Notaries Public are trained paralegals and therefore meet the qualifications set forth in Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 222, Section 17(d). Because our notaries are professional paralegals, they are authorized to prepare subpoenas in compliance with Massachusetts law.

Massachusetts Notaries Public may issue subpoenas pursuant to several Massachusetts authorities:
Massachusetts Rules of Civil Procedure, Rule 45(a): Authorizes clerks of court, notaries public, and justices of the peace to issue subpoenas commanding attendance, testimony, production of documents, electronically stored information, or inspection of premises.Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 233, Section 1: Permits notaries public to issue witness summonses in civil matters and administrative proceedings, subject to specific limitations regarding criminal cases.Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30A, Section 12(3): Allows parties in adjudicatory proceedings to obtain subpoenas issued in the name of the agency, including issuance by a notary public.
